Question Need Tips on Scents for Drawers

Hrm...I wonder if I've worded that correctly?

I used to line the bottom of my drawers with a BOUNCE sheet but since I switched to Sams Club brand b/c its scents barely there I have nothing to use since Im sorting through my drawers and re-arranging them.

I will re-launder the items Im going to keep but I just want something nice smelling to go in there again. I dont want to go buy BOUNCE just for that reason alone, kwim?

Im not one to make any homemade potpourri sachets either
    Any tips or idears ladies?

How about opening up a few cakes of personal soap that you already have and putting them in your drawers - drying them out in your drawers will make them last longer in the bath/shower and the perfume will act as a drawer liner.

I use those fancy soaps that you get in gift baskets to scent mine. When they run out of smell I trade them out with grandma whos got a huge stash of them. Too many years of fancy bath baskets lol. Also use cotton balls with the bottom bit of perfume on them.
You can also use excess bath salts in your washer rinse water. Will scent your pjs, undies, etc.

My mother saves the free perfume samples and puts them in her dresser drawers.

"works strong enough against the smell of the old dresser. "

This is slightly different than the issue of looking from something that leaves a nice scent. Borax is one of the best scent absorbers I've found, and you just sprinkle it in the bottom of a drawer and then put a layer of paper between it and your clothes (tissue paper is nice, newspaper works ok but can rub off ink onto clothing). For scent, I use essential oils and just add some to the furniture polish I use.

Its not like its an offensive odour thats left on the clothes but all my clothes have smelled like this forever this thing has been a hand me down of a hand me down. Bounce worked nicely, scented the drawer and clothes but I dont want to go buy a box for this purpose. I had an odour sponge in there for a while but as soon as I took it out - the smell came back. Its engrained in the wood forever! And Im counting my lucky stars that its not an offensive smell either

If you like the scent of lavendar, pick up a bar of Yardley's English Lavendar Soap (I think Walgreen's sells them for like 99 cents on sale). You won't even have to unwrap the soap bars, just tuck them in the drawer.

If you have an old chest of drawers with that old musty smell put a cup of bleach in each of the drawers and shut them. Leave it for 1 week and remove the bleach, the smell will be gone. Do not leave this in your bedroom or any living areas. Put the chest in the basement or garage the bleach odor can be over whelming if not properly ventilated.

If you have a bad smelling drawer, empty it, put a small container (I use custard cups) with a little white vinegar in it, and close it overnight. It takes the smell out.

I use white vinegar all over the house to get rid of the musty smell we always seem to have here in Florida.

A small sachet bag of baking soda with some essential oil added will also make your drawers smell sweet.

I thought about the baking soda but not sure what kinda sachet it could go into w/o 'leaking' out all over the drawer/clothes etc. Idears pls

The vinegar trick may work but the bleach wont. This dresser cant go outside - too big and awkward right now.

Not sure how long it would last, but what about taking those old dryer sheets and giving them a spray or two of your favorite perfume?
