    Default got the wrong detergant

I usally buy a cheaper laundry detergant but I decided to use Tide this time because my daughter is the worst I have ever seen about staining her close and the cheaper stuff just isn't getting it out. Well I got the smaller bottle that is like 64 loads out of 100 oz, never noticed t'll I got home that it is for those fromt load washers. Mine is a regular top loading washer with the agitator. So I am wondering if it will work just the same in my kind of washer. Does anyone buy this kind all the time and use it in the top load washing machines? Thanks.

Here's a discussion by laundromatfinder.com about front vs top loading machines and their soap:

Front loading washers require less detergent than top loading washers. A front-loader generally uses half as much detergent for the same size load, or perhaps even less. Indeed, too much detergent is more of a concern with front-loaders, because if the detergent causes too much suds, the suds will inhibit proper cleaning. So, a front-loading washer creates an immediate cost savings in detergent.

Id hate to say it but take it back and explain why you're returning it - maybe the store will let you do an exchange? OR just use MORE and add something to help boost the cleaning? Oxyclean? Vinegar?

I switched from Purex to Arm & Hammer and found that cleans the best for me. Then Tide went on sale and we stocked up and Im sorry but its worse then the real no name brands When we go through our stockpile which will be superfast b/c we have to use so much more we're going back to Arm & Hammer.
