Tips or Uses for Warped LPs?
I just took about half a dozen LPs out of the trunk of my car to discover they're all warped. I'm not at any big loss -- they're all albums that I can get again for $0.10 at a yard sale. But does anyone have any uses for them? Other than melting them into those weird bowl things?

If they aren't warped too bad, I've seen them made into wall clocks.

big trivets? not so much for hot things, but if you don't want something leaving a mark you could put the lp under it.

I'm sure you could find it somewhere online, but Rachael Ray had someone on her show (or maybe it was just her...whatever) that made LPs into bowls! You'd have to look it up to find details but it was basically putting it on top of a glass bowl and sticking it in the oven until it melted down in there and then you could use your hands to shape the top if you wanted it in a design other than round.

I have a friend that stapled them to her ceiling in her kitchen. She did a retro 50"s thing. Looks great and really helps make the retro thing. We also have a jazz bar here in Sarasota that used them on the wall as decoration. Have also seen the album covers used as decorations just like posters or pictures the album inside helps keep the cover stiff. You can also do the bowl thing with a clay flower pot as your mold and make flower pots out of them. The resulting pot is good for small plants like african violets and christmas catcus. They make good garden accent pieces. Also you can use them for edging in the garden.

at casasugar.com you can find the record bowl instructions ( I am too new to post the link I guess
)
I've never made the bowls but I have made some neat storage boxes from old LP sleeves!

It used to be that the way you "fixed" warped
records was to put them in an oven that had been heated low and then turned off. I've never done this, but it was common knowledge when I was a kid. Try looking on google, you might find instructions. Maybe you don't have to buy them again!
