useful tips
Use lifesavers candy to hold candles in place on your next birthday cake! Kids love 'em!
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips!
Zap garlic cloves in the microwave for 15 seconds and the skins slip right off!
Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your pancake batter onto the hot griddle - perfect shaped pancakes every time!
To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes!
To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling
For easy "meatloaf mixing", combine the ingredients with a potato masher!
Spray your tupperware with non-stick cooking spray before pouring in tomato-based sauces~no more stains!
To aid in washing dishes, add a tablespoon of baking soda to your soapy water - it softens hands while cutting through grease
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator~it will keep for weeks
Keep the linings from cereal boxes~they make great substitutes for waxed paper!
For shiner hair, use (blondes) lemon juice - (reds & brunettes) apple cider vinegar. This takes off the soap film, and shines up hair.
For a clogged showerhead, soak in vinegar & water
Chill Candles for 24 hours before using, they burn longer & don’t drip.
An old auto wiper blade makes a great squeegie for doing windows.
To remove transparent tape from walls without damage, warm the tape with a hair dryer and lift the tape away.
To freshen your automatic dishwasher,add about half a box of baking soda in the dishwasher, run on rinse cycle.
Make your own dishwasher detergent, Mix 2 tablespoons of borax and 2 tablespoons of baking soda.
Empty a can of Coca-Cola into a baking pan, wrap ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
Coffee Filters are lint-free they'll leave your windows sparkling.

thanks for the great ideas. one thing that I have done before is put a koolaid pack into white frosting. This will give it color and a zinggy flavor.
