i have another heating oil ?
okay..
well last time i called it was $398.00 for 150.00 gallons..probably changed now that was about 2 weeks ago
i have about 50-60 gallons left..my oil heats the water and the home..im doing pretty good with the water part i think..using mostly cool water to wash dishes..and i take showers like every other day (sahm here) and i think my husband does the same..like every other day..which is new for me im used to taking one every day and so is the hubby but im pressuring him to be more conservative with the hot water..
okay i could order 50 gallons that is/was $140.00 or i could go to the gas station and get like 10 gallons a week for $30.00 and add that too the tank.. almost every week...is that i good idea? it would be cheaper i think..and i would always have something in there right..
any advice?

I am assuming that you'd be going to the gas station to get kerosene to put in right? I would find out what the price for kero is first. Then you have the added gas mileage of driving there and not to mention the time consumption. I know I looked at Kero yesterday when we took kids trick or treating - mom lives on PA/NY border - and they wanted over $3 a gallon in PA. We have kero heater that we sometimes use to supplement but probably won't with prices that high. I know around here straight fuel oil was about $3 (at a more expensive place) and $2.84 a gallon at another place. If you don't need blended (kero mixed with fuel because you have an outside tank) it's probably cheaper just to order from a company if the prices down there are at all similar to here.
You may also want to check what the minimum order of fuel is - sometimes it's 100 or 150. THe place I used to work was 150 gallons. $2.65 a gallon sounds reasonable and I would be getting it now because it is sure to go up.

Some places also have an instant water heater by their showers .It runs off electricity but only heats the water as you use it so you are not heating a tank all day. Has anyone out their bought one of these?

You may want to consider an on demand and/or electric water heater. The calculator below will allow you to do a cost comparrison between fuels...Also, consider when you purchase diesel fuel at a gas station you are paying taxes that are not charged for heating oil.
can't post the URL but I think you can figure out--- hearth.com/econtent/index.php/articles/fuel_cost_comparison_calculator/[/url]

years ago I used to buy diesel fuel, at the time it was cheaper and easier to come up with the money to pay for it.

Frugal-fannie, we have an instant water heater, but it runs on gas. We previously had an ordinary gas hot water heater, with the holding tank. Our gas bill dropped dramatically when we hooked up the instant heater.
I'm often asked if the water is hot enough.... and the answer is yes. They come in different sizes to accommodate what you want/need to run.
