    Default Re-using Dryer Lint

Anyone have any ideas on what you could do with all that dryer lint fiber??

I was thinking of stuffing small toys for the animals with the lint.

I think I read somewhere that it was highly immflamable?? Not sure on this. So it may not be suitable for toys as such. It could be stuffed into loo rolls and used as fire lighters possibly? This is all speculation on my part of course!!!

I have often thought of using it as a papier mache medium mixed in with the glue, but as I never have time for such hobbies anymore, it is just a dream.

It will be interesting to hear if anyone has come up with a use for it.

We use ours in the compost and as fire starters. For fire starters we cut a cardboard egg carton up so there is 12 individual cups fill them with the lint and melt some wax over them. They work great.

Yes, they are great for fire starters! Especially if you camp alot or use a woodstove. Just be sure to store them safely. I probably would stuff any toys with it, since it is so flamable.

We make the cardboard egg carton fire starters too!! The stuff is HIGHLY flammable - hence the great fire starters!! Be careful about stuffing toys with it!

I started collecting mine last week to try out the firestarters, I have leftover used candles to recycle also, I can't wait to see the results!

You could use it as artwork. You get different colors from different clothes. Just glue it to some paper. Make a nighttime sky setting with denim lint.

Maybe it's extreme, but artists have done it.

In the spring I put a wad in the suet container and let the birds pick at it for their nests. I think they will have to share now since using them as firestarters is a great idea.

don't use it to stuff toys due to it being highly flammable.
We make firestarters with it...we stuff an empty toilet paper or paper towel (when we have them) roll with the lint and start our fires with that instead of traditional firestarters. Actually, I think that is a camping hint to use dryer lint instead of anything else.
