Soup Can Use
Since the Campbell's tomato soup was on sale this week at Ingles and I had coupons as well, I was doing a search for recipes using tomato soup. I came across this cute idea. If anyone has tried this... how did it turn out? In the photo, they still have the label on the can. Could you leave the label on and cook it that way? This would have been a nice little gift idea as well for the holidays.

Those are cute! I would carefully cut the label (exacto knife would work well) off in the back and glue back on after they cool down. Seems they would burn at worst or turn brown if left on.

I'd bake them in a different can, clean the tomato soup one well, and gift it in it. I'd not bake in the can with the label.
I've not tried this recipe, but I sure like it. I might have to do this for future gifting. Thanks!

Thanks. I didn't think it would work to bake it in the label. I think I am going to bookmark this idea for future gift giving. I will start saving cans. LOL!

I love it! I have never seen them done in the soup can! Now, I can't wait to have a new neighbor move in, so I can make them soup cake!

I am the same as miss thrifty...made the cake but not in the can. Campbells had a great recipe book out when I first got married.....used it for everything (soupburgers, tomato soup cake etc).

Those of you that made the cake... did you like it? Did it have a good taste?

that's about the cutest thing i've ever seen.
i dont know what i'd like the cake with tomato soup in it - but i love the idea of making it in a can.
i'd ditch the label entirely, and just decorate it after it was out of the oven (and cooled of course).
maybe just a little "personal sized" cake for those who are always on "diets" - and it's great for taking in lunches too!
