Cracked Feet or Hands
Rub them with Vicks Vapor Rub.
Works like a charm ( might not be best smelling but the pain goes a way in a flash )
This is tried and true by many in my family....

Wow, I thought the menthol stuff would make them sting like crazy.

My hands and cuticles are awful in the winter. I am going to have to give this a try. Thanks.

I haven't tried Vicks yet, but i did resort to using Blistex once when I was away from home. Vicks is way more frugal by a long shot! Thanks for the tip.

Living in a dry climate, the best lotion I have found is Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion. It has a nice, soft scent. A few weeks ago I found a $2 coupon in the sunday paper for it. I have even used it on my face a little bit when it was super dry. I have not tried the vicks thing but I will keep that in mind.

The gold bond did nothing for me.
I haven't tried the Vicks either.
I used to have such a time even in the summer that I couldn't step on my feet.
Went to the Dr and nothing they did helped.
I started taking a multi-vitamin and my feet have cleared right up.To be One With The Universe In Spirit, Mind and Body

I love the smell of vicks!!! Reminds me of my dad putting it on me when I was little. I did this tip on my feet, then put on socks overnight, and it worked great!

cotton gloves and Bag Balm for this villager who washes her hands with professional strength soap and wears latex gloves all day.
Vaseline works well too, but I love Bag Balm for this.

Nice tip, when my feet get bad, or my hands start cracking again, I'll try this.

I also read somewhere, in one of my books, that vicks repels mosquitos and gnats. My dh keeps some in his tackle box for when we go fishing, and it works great!

Yes, bag balm works great. I switched to Burt's bees therapeutic honey & orange wax. Works just as well just sweeter smelling. (Cat loves the smell of mint, she would go nuts every time I used bag balm. ; )

That's cause mint actually makes your cat high. I kid you not look it up. Catnip does the same thing. My cat loves catnip and lavender.
Also A&D ointment...you know the stuff used for diaper rash. My lips were horribly windburned...esp in the corners. Nothing was helping, even vicks. I looked it up and used it around a week but it went away. Also helped my hands. I was working in a factory and I wash my hands constantly-from grease, oil or wearing gloves. I tried lotion when I was wearing gloves-it helped a bit,but if they were pretty chapped which was always worse in the winter. I used a bit in the roughest/driest spots and it helped alot.
