Inexpensive snack ideas for work
I'm looking for some inexpensive snack ideas for work. I take fruit, yogurt, pretzels and popcorn but am looking for new ideas. It's way too easy to go to the vending machine and spend .85 for a candy bar when I'm needing a pick-me-up. I have a sweet tooth and would love some frugal snack solutions.

When I was a kid I loved "ants on a log"...celery with peanut butter in the void and stick raisin on the PB...yummy.
Another one I do for my hubby...I make some type of desert bread (banana nut or similar) over the weekend. Surprisingly easy to do. He takes a slice or two for his snack.

I take little ziploc bags full of sugary cereal. It helps the sweet tooth, doesnt have to terribly many calories and is easy to eat while I am working. I have a baggie full of fruit loops or sugar smacks every day.
i also take pretzels and popcorn, as well as fruit - mine has to be finger food - can't really have anythig with a spoon. I also take homemade sweets like muffins or cookies.

I can't take anything with pb in it to work (and the kids can't take it to school) because of allergies in our schools. I tend to pack a muffin...makes me think I am healthy and fills the void. I also like yogurt, apples, popcorn, and plain nacho chips.

I take a homemade mixture called "mud buddies" to work with me. I found this recipe idea over the holiday season and I love it.
Wheat Chex (I use generic) about 4 cups
1/3 bag of semi-sweet choc. chips (I use generic)
1/4 cup or so of creamy P.B. (also generic)
I heat the choc. chips and P.B. for about a minute in the microwave and then pour over the wheat chex and mix together well with a spoon. Then I take powdered sugar about a cup or a little less and mix that in on top of the choc. coated chex mix. I spread it out on wax paper to cool for awhile and then I store in a plastic container in the fridge. I take this almost every day to work to indulge my sweet tooth in the afternoon. This has prevented me from raiding the vending machines in January and the wheat chex has 5 grams of fiber per cup, which helps me get some fiber into my diet. The P.B. has a little fiber too. Like everything, just make sure to eat this in moderation, it's very yummy!

Dried fruit is good mixed with nuts. I also make a granola with oatmeal and nuts and homey as a sweetener.
The chocolate chips and peanut butter mixture sounds really good. May try it with popcorn. OK, now I am hungry! LOL

I love the little caramel rice cakes - crunchy and sweet. Aldi's carries the Fit & Active version.

Wow. Those are some good ideas. I plan on trying the PBJ sandwiches and the neat recipe with wheat chex, pb and choc chips. Those will curb my sweet tooth.

how about rice crispies bars?
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
