old square beat up kitchen island
I have an old kitchen island from that really light wood with a butcher block top. Tried to sell it at a garage sale for 20 but nobody bought it.
Thinking that top alone would be worth 20... so what I'm gonna do is use my jigsaw and
cut the whole thing up.
Use the top as a heavy duty cutting board in the kitchen, the shelving as a hanging potrack ( buy some hooks and redesign it so it will hang)
what do you think?
Was going to donate it until I saw the price of butcher block cutting boards at home depot and I need a good heavy duty one.

guess the first thing to do is measure the thing on the top as its square and thick...
it may be tooooo big for the kitchen counter ( I'd like to leave it on the counter to protect my counter from heat, knifes.
If anyone has any other ideas what I can cut it up and make a sqaure kitcehn island with 2 shelves into, let me know.
Going to wait awhile before I cut it up to consider all possibilities of it.

Cover it with assorted tiles! and make a new fangled cooking block! Lowes always has tiles onsale..you could make something beautiful and still useful without having to cut anything up!

I love the tile idea. You could even do mosaic tile. Could you use it in your garage or shed as a potting table?

I've not cut it up yet...
maybe try one more garage sale.
The reason I haven't cut it up is its buried in the shed under the boxes for a garage sale.
Its on the bottom !!!
lol
I still plan to cut it up, it would make a nice butcher block cutting board for the kitchen.
