You can spread creamy peanut butter on the labels, let them set for awhile and then peel them off.

What about making homemade bath salts and using the jars for that? That would make a nice gift I think.

I keep all sorts of dry goods in mine - with no problems (both food and non-food). I put them in the freezer for a minimum of 30 mins (although I usually forget they're there), to pop the wax out and run them through the dishwasher. I agree - the jars are just too good to throw out.

I am VERY glad to see the mention of lead. My daughter has lead poisoning, and I have earned the title as "lead expert" the hard way.

Many candles contain lead in the wick. Do not reuse the candle jars for food unless the label says "lead free wick" (Actually only buy a candle if it says lead free wick).

I clean out my candle jars in the dishwasher, spray paint the , then paint holiday scenes on them. We fill these jars with candy and give the out as Christmas gifts.

I guess I am not that creative - I just drop a nice fat pillar candle in there and surround it with melted wx to make another candle!

So are the older fiestaware. Many glow in the dark things are also radioactive.

And it looks like Granite Counter Tops maybe also http://www.greendaily.com/2008/07/25...uke-your-food/

The Hubster decided that he couldn't cure my obsession with candles so he bought me a soy candle kit. He says if you can't beat em', join em'! Now I clean them out and pour soy candles in them. You just have to make sure that there are no knicks or scratches in the glass before you re-pour wax in them!
