uses for shredded paper?
Hi,
I am new here, I like the post on uses for dryer lint!
I was wondering, does anyone know a use for shredded paper... I bought a shredder for shredding important documents and I was thinking, there must be some use from the shredded paper.

I put mine into my compost pile. If you don't compost, you can always put it with the paper recycling.

like recycling mentioned above... or, i've stuffed toys (plush) when I didnt have enough fiber-fill with paper. Heck, i bet it's safer than the fiber-fill for little kids sticking plushy teddys in their mouths. I don't know.
But I've used it for stuffing personally.

I have seen pictures of people who add some colored paper and then fill a kiddy pool or empty sand box and then let the kids play in it. Don't know if I could handle the potential mess, but it does sound fun.

Use it as "grass" in gift baskets and bags. Or when I ship something, I use shredded paper as filler instead of say those awful styrofoam peanuts.

making compost is a great idea. I just use mine to shed mail to keep it away from people who steal trash

I was going to suggest cat liter as well. That is even what the vet suggests when you have a kitty declawed.
What about using solid color shreds in a gift instead of tissue paper?

My daughter & her husband have a mini farm and she wants me to buy a shredder so I can shred the stuff I should be shredding for her to use as animal bedding. She has goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits & horses...and I have absolutely no clue which ones would get the shredded paper as bedding. But, she did read somewhere that shredded paper can be used for animal bedding.

If you have a fireplace, you can stuff shredded paper into empty toilet paper or paper towel tubes as kindling.
