Uses for empty pill bottles...

I use ours to keep seeds separated, sewing needles, small quantities of spices left that are too small for large containers, a glasses repair kit in purse, shampoo/conditioner for traveling, vaseline, deodorant I scraped out of large containers, little medicines like for ears, eyes, that I was forever losing,.

put as many plastic bags, the ones you get at the grocery store, in them and give them to a new mother so she can put dirty diapers in before she throws them in the trash.

When my lil one was a baby I did this and kept some in my purse, the diaperbag, and the car.

You can donate them to missionary organizations who need them to hand out medications in.

Check with your nearby medical teaching school, or.. http://www.medicalbridges.org/ will accept them as well.

Many of the big teaching hospitals all over the country accept them (along with expired medication) to give to over to borders outreach teams.

Check locally.

that is a terrific thought. I was looking through my cabinet today and thinking I needed to discard some stuff, and that will be great if I can pass the bottles along. Thank you for sharing that tip.

I use them for various things -- I put quarters in them for yard saling. . . I put fire starters in them for camping (vaseline soaked cotton balls). . . . sewing kits . . . tiny first aid kits. . . . in a couple of my larger bottles I keep Zuni traveling food (a very compact, dehydrated mix of corn, fruit and meat - one TBSP, makes a quart of soup) - those are part of my emergency rations for my BOB's, etc.

Our scout troop uses them for a mini fishing kit. It has a small amount of fishing line and a hook.

I think they also used them for fire starter kits too.

They really like the tins that altoids come in. They would use those for mini first aid kits, etc. Those were handy because of the metal/mirror like finish inside. They could use them to reflect the sun.

i've used the pill bottles (the tall ones) to hold qtips in a purse or when i travel...sometimes i have to cut one end off to fit in other size containers.

used them to hold change in the car

used them to keep things like chap sticks in so they wouldn't get lost in a purse

small first aid kits (a few bandages, small tube of antibiotic cream, tweezers, etc)

i've oput some bengay or thereagesic in them for short trips so i didn't have to take the big tubes

all i can remember at this time of night...HTH

Clean em and fill em with salt or pepper for a picnic basket. Or if you only use splenda at work (or sugar) fill it and pop it into your purse...maybe your favorite creamer from home. Take it to work and use it during your coffee breaks.

I take mine and fill them with the extra buttons that come with new clothes. I have one for the buttons that come with pants, one that is for shirts, one that is fro jackets, etc.
