    Default Free items by complaining..

Sounds terrible, but let me explain! I bought one of those taco kits because it was on sale and when I made dinner it turned out the salsa pouch was rancid. Everything else in the kit was totally fine. I phoned the company and explained the situation and they're sending me coupons for free products. I've bought products from this company for years and this is the first time I've had anything bad, so it's not an ongoing problem, but now I get some free products just for taking five minutes to make a phone call.

I do this too, but only if I am truly disappointed in the quality of a product. I also send "fan mail" (via email) to manufacturers of products we love. I have received coupons for the compliments, as well as the complaints.

I do this as well, but only if there is truly a problem with the product.

I've recieved free coupons or cents off coupons for complaints and for compliments.

LOL years ago I got a good deal on Banquet frozen dinners, after a few weeks of eating them everyday I noticed I was gaining weight really fast. I was always skinny so I thought something must be wrong with the dinners for making me gain so much weight in a month. I wrote them and they sent a dozen free coupons good on any of their products.

the following week I found out I was pregnant, hence the weight gain lol

This is true. I have done this a few times when a favorite
product didn't work out as it should. And most times
if you write, call or email the company they will send
you deeply discounted or free coupons.

It also works the other way when I have called to say
I like a product they are so glad they send you free
coupons, new samples and put you on their mailing list
    if you like. Good job.

Since food prices are getting so high, my tolerance of "bad" products is getting lower and lower. Whereas I used to just throw away something if I wasn't happy with it, I now take the time to call/email and complain. I won't do this just to get "free" stuff, but I definitely won't absorb the cost of the manufacturers' foulups, either.
    Gratitude.

I did this for the first time last month. I had zoomed through the Jack-in-the-Box drive in for their $1.00 Chicken sandwich. I rarely stop through there because the past couple of times before that it was looking "dirty" to me. Well same thing this time and I sat at the window (filthy dirty again in front of the person inside) for 6 minutes before she even opened the window to have me pay. No acknowledgement that it will be a few minutes or anything just basically ignored me. I was boiling mad. The corporate number is posted on the window so when I got to work I immediately called it and explained the situation. I told them I used to go there quite frequently and do not anymore because it is just starting to look really dirty to me, and if the outside is that filthy, what would the inside look like? Also about sitting there for so long with no acknowledgement what-so-ever. Sorry getting long, anyway they sent me coupons for several free items (whatever I choose) just to try it again. They also sent a letter stating they had contacted them and were regularly checking to make sure they had "cleaned up their act". I still have not been able to give them another chance yet but I have till Dec. 31 to use the coupons.

Good for you. I've never thought to complain when I am not satisfied.

I just received 2 free coupons plus 75 cents off 2 more items from Dole. Bought dh a bag of lettuce and while the outside was fresh looking, inside was brown and slimy. Not yummy at all.

The other one I'm waiting on is Act II popcorn. The stuff was stale. CS wasn't very nice though. So I'm "waiting" to see if I get a replacement coupon or not.

I was helping my mentally ill son obtain a state Id he had lost his . So we get to the BMV and have his birth Certificate and a certified copy of his S S card. Well they say its to old has to be Blah blah blah . Well I have his folder in my hand that has at least fifty different things including court papers in my hand. I was not about to drive across town spent the gas my time and more money for another copy so I was nice but assertive about this and yes he was able to get his Id with out the extra cost just from complaining.

We had gone into Papa Murphys (take and bake pizza) one night to get a pizza. With about 45 minutes to closing, we waited patiently with the other 5 customers to place our order. The 5 employess at the counter ignored us for about 5 minutes then we asked them to help us. They informed us that they were closing and could assemble anymore pizzas. Needless to say those of us that had been standing in line were not happy. The employees were rude and were doing nothing more than standing around. I went home and found the website and sent in a complaint. The next morning, 9 am, I recieved a call from the manager(who wasn't there that night). She was livid with how we had been treated and that her employees had turned away so much business. All 5 were fired and we recieved 4 free pizzas.

I am calling the 1 800 number on the tide container today...bought the kind that sits on its side and has the little spout...the crazy thing leaked all over. I cleaned up the mess, made sure it was tight and left it..it leaked again! I am definitely calling, detergent is expensive!
