Denture Cleaner
Any ideas out there for a homespun denture cleaner? Regular toothpaste just doesn't seem to work well and I hate the thought of spending money on Polident & the like.

I actually have some denture cleansing tablets that I use to clean my nightly retainer (yay teeth that move again 10 years after having braces!) and while it doesn't list ingredients (really? is that allowed?) it says "with baking soda" so I bet you could do the vinegar + baking soda thing. It would give you that nice fizz and probably wouldn't leave a residue. And wouldn't be toxic.

Don't use alcohol, abrasive cleaners, bleaches, whiteners they may scratch the surface of the denture and harsh products like bleach which will turn the pink parts of your denture white.
Denture Cleaner
Soak dentures in vinegar for 15 to 30 minutes, then brush thoroughly to remove tartar buildup.
If you want a homemade denture cleaning product that foams and bubbles like store-bought tablets, use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Place a teaspoon of baking soda in the bottom of the denture cup, place the dentures in the cup, and slowly add enough white vinegar to cover them. Allow them to soak overnight, and rinse and brush as usual before wearing. If only real teeth were this easy to clean!

Thank you for the tips! I think I am going to try baking soda & vinegar, I have both on hand.
