When my oldest turned 13 we rented a limo & took him and a car full of his friends to an ice cream parlor. We picked them up from school which they thought was cool. Because it was during the week we got a good deal on the limo.
When my middle ds turned 13 he didn't want to do anything special, he was saving for something special so he asked if he could have the cash we would have spent on the party
DD is already dreaming of what she wants to do, lol.

For our oldest dd we get her birthstone ear rings, the real gem instead of an imitation. For our other 3 girls we will most likely do the same. I have no idea what we will do for our son. My dh also sent flowers to our oldest, that will repeat to the other girls also. He wanted to be the first one to send his girl flowers.
We took our oldest out to lunch (just Mom, Dad, and him) and used it as a time to talk to him about girls, dating, to ask him if he had any questions that he wanted answered and whatever else came up.
