Well, a week later I am posting this! Rachel's 7th birthday party was last week. I rented a bouncer, and that was all we needed for entertainment. 14 kids showed up - (shame on all those people that don't RSVP). They bounced like crazy and had a grand time. The only bad part was that I had two sick kids. One had an asthma attack, and another felt sick to her stomach (turned out she had the flu.) I called both of their moms.
This year, since my oven is broken, I had to buy the cake. I have not had great luck with kids eating cake at our parties, it usually gets thrown away. So I spent $6 on 24 mini cupcakes, threw on sprinkles and candles, and they scarfed! Definitely doing cupcakes next year.
Lots of lovely gifts were given, but this year people did not go overboard, which was great. I like reasonable things instead of everyone trying to outdo everyone else. I got to meet Rachel's new friends from her new school and they are lovely girls, one of whom stayed over for a sleepover.
Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!
