Help Me Plan A Party
Okay, Dd's 7th birthday is on February 23rd. She's a huge reader and is very into mysteries (Cam Jansen, A-Z Mysteries, etc). I'm thinking of maybe having a mystery-themed birthday party for her. I'm all set with party favors, and I make the cake myself.
What I'm looking for are some ideas for the mystery-theme. I thought about hiding clues around the house and have the girls try to find the clues and then have prizes or something.
My only concern is that all of the guests won't be as into it as J will be. I'm thinking maybe I should just stick with a regular old party.
I don't know. Do you guys have any ideas to help make the theme thing be cool to 1st graders who aren't little mystery bookworms like my girl?

How about a "Clue" themed party? Each guest could be a character in the game, but in real life. Each room of your house could hold a clue and be renamed according to the board game? Who doesn't love to play Clue?

How about like a "who done it party" I don't know the books you are talking about but maybe pick one of the books or a theme from a book and do like a "mystery dinner" so the whole party is a mystery but have that in the background and do other party stuff like a craft and some games but the mystery is going on at the same time.
Do you know what I mean?

Treasure hunt with clues is great for any age, heck I like them too. One year mil did that for a dinner party & it was such fun. I'm not much help but just wanted to say I can't believe she's going to be 7!!!
Oh, found this, it's perfect!!~ http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/mystery.html~*Darlene*~

Yeah, I can't think of a seven year old who wouldn't enjoy a scavenger hunt!
