Default Will the turkey hold a few more days?

We always buy a few extra turkeys at Thanksgiving. I got one out of the freezer on April 27 (11 days ago). I was planning on cooking it this weekend, but DH got called out of town. According to Butterball, turkey is safe to put back in the freezer as long as there are still ice crystals in the freezer. I think it totally thawed about 2 days ago.

DH will be back on Monday - I'd like to cook the turkey Tuesday (16 days total out of freezer). Do you think that's ok, or should I plan to cook it up this weekend and freeze meat for another use?

    TIA!

If you took it out 11 day ago it was probably fully thawed longer than two days ago. From the sites I have been on teh longest it says after thawed is 5 days.Im no expert though

You can call the Butter Ball Hotline and ask them. I personally would cook it asap.

I know it takes at least 8 days to thaw a turkey in my fridge (based on past Thanksgivings) - meaning no ice crystals in the cavity, 100% thawed.

I think I'll go ahead and roast it on Saturday - I'll just have to cook DH a turkey dinner another time!

    Thanks everyone.
