Making Cottage Cheese today!
I'm going to make an attmept at it. I have a recipe for easy cottage cheese (it isn't the traditional kind made with rennet). It is an Alton Brown recipe from Food Network.
We'll see how it turns out! If it's good, I'll post the recipe here later today!
Wish me luck, and if anyone has any advice, I'll take it!

awesome and good luck to you
Keep in mind if you have never done it before it will not resemble a store variety all that much.... and do keep us posted as to how it turns out

And?!?
We've been eating a lot of cottage cheese lately but I haven't had time to try making it for us yet. How did it turn out?The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

Well I did try AB's recipe Sunday evening. Sorry to say I think I squeezed too much whey out of the product and the curd is a bit dry and tough. It does have good flavor, though anything with half and half poured over it would be good in my book.
I might make it again to gain more experience with it but it isn't as cost effective as getting a 3 pound tub for $5.50 at BJ's. As for the curds, I added them to some left over saag and microwaved it for lunch. It melted incredibly well and was delicious. The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.
