    Default Pizza Dough Question?

My son works at a pizza parlor and he brought me 12 things of dough. Each one makes a 14" inch pizza.
I wasn't sure about freezing them but went ahead and did it anyway.
My question is can you use pizza dough to make pot pies and regular pies?
I just don't want to waste them and was amazed that they didn't take it to Christ table who could have used it.

Pizza dough can be frozen - Domino's pizza ships (or used to in the 80s) all of their dough frozen to their various stores.

It won't make a good pie, however. Pizza dough is not made the same way as pie dough. It will be chewy and tough like pizza dough, not tender and flaky like pie dough should be.

You can use to also make the bread sticks and/or cheese sticks, cinnastix the parlors sell. I think I posted the cinnastix one on the Food forum in the Clone section. For the cheese sticks wrap the dough around the mozarella.

I asked my son if it was frozen and he said no. They hand make it and let it rise, thats why it was in the big pan he brought home.
It's not a franchise, just a grandma style pizza parlor.
Thank you both and thanks for the recipes, I didn't think of those, my granddaughters love the cin sticks.

You can also use it to make calzones and empanadas. Both are good for using up leftovers and there are a million recipes on the web. We like empanadas with leftover roast beef in them.

Do you have a recipe for the foccacia bread ? I like it, but wouldn't have a clue how to do it. I even thought of twisting it and baking it with garlic butter. My son says they use it for the bread sticks also.
Thank you Greebo, I knew what you meet, just thought I would let you know in case there was a tiny difference.

If you have the recipe, can you post it?

LUCKY YOU FRUGALNANA.......for getting the pizza dough. Nice little 'treasure' for this time of year, especially.

I'd love to get my hands on some of that dough....

Our mom and pop pizza parlor makes "the bomb" stromboli... just take the thawed pizza dough (flattened of course and I'd probably divide into at least 2 pieces and prob. 3 or 4 and shaped into circles) and fill them with fillings from ham, pepperoni and sausage to veggies and pineapple to olives and mozzarella cheese (add ricotta for calzones). They even have a buffalo chicken on with chicken and buffalo sauce with blue cheese dressing on the side and philly steak and cheese. Fold them over, cut a few vent holes in the top, brush withe some olive oil and bake like you would a pizza. Serve pizza/marinara sauce on the side if you like.

Even after they're made, you could refreeze them.
