I have never owned a microwave
I focus on simple meals that are easy to cook and clean up. It does take some planning, and I do have some nights with just a cold sandwich for dinner. I find a lot of the foods marketed with 'microwavable' as the selling point are not the healthiest--there are exceptions of course.

Yeah, I don't usually buy anything advertised as microwaveable. My issue is that I would cook for the week and then nuke what I wanted for that meal.
Thanks to grainlady last night I made a simple chicken gravy with broth and cornstarch and then added some chicken I had made on Sunday. As the chicken heated up, I toasted some bread. Put chicken in gravy on toast and add fresh tomato as salad and dinner was done.Go West Young(ish) (Wo)Man,

I'm thinking that asking for one on Freecycle might be a good idea. Or try the thrift stores.
