storing baked bread
How do you store your white bread after you bake it at home? Also, my bread machine is old and make the big round bread. Into what shape do you slice it? Just making round slices is to large for sandwhiches.

We store ours in ziplock bags in the breadbox. We usually wait a day before slicing ours (slices easier) and use an electric slicer. A serrated knife works too. With the bigger loaves you can slice in regular slices then halve them.
Slices abound in this post,lol.~*Darlene*~

"Just making round slices is to large for sandwiches." No, no, no...your mouth is too small. Do some stretching exercises, like big yawns, stick your fingers in the corners of your mouth and pull to the side

I cut them into rounds. Never had to worry about storage...half the loaf disappears when hot, the rest later.
Other than that, let it cool, cut in half stuff into a gallon freezer bag and freeze them. (have to do it that way when I make 2 consecutive loaves...just no room in the belly...hmm - stretching exercises!)BEF fully funded

Trust me. My three children definetly have BIG mouths! LOL No stretching exercises for them!
(Well, DD age 19 did just get her tongue peirced. It swelled so much she barely had room for it in her mouth. LOL! The dumb things teens do. I console myself with the reminder that it isn't a visible piercing on her face. Her boyfriend has his lip pierced twice and his eyebrow. Shudder...)

Store bread????
It barely gets out of the oven before my family devours it! There was this one time I didn't think it would even make it out of the pan...
On the few occasions I managed to hide fresh bread, I cut it according to what I wanted to use it for and tossed the slices in baggies
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I make several loaves at a time usually. The first one out is halfway eaten right away the the rest have said. What is left I put is a large gallon baggie with a twist tie. The one that is going to most likely frozen for later I let it cool almost all the way then when it is still a little warm I place it in gallon baggie. It may get a little condensation in the bag, but it helps keep the crust soft like store bought bread and you can slice it way easier than if the crust get hard and breaks all over the place.
I am sure they sell fancy bread bags somewhere, but I just use the gallon size baggies with the twist ties.Married 22 years to Mark

I use the machine to make the dough, then bake it in the oven in a bread pan. When it's cool, I slice it and freeze it in a freezer bag. If the slices stick together when they're frozen, just slip a knife between the slices, give a twist, and they pop apart.
