    Default Grilling baskets

We bought a grilling basket/wok a couple years ago and I still haven't made anything in it. What do you cook in them (I know veggies for the most part) , do you season them after the stuff cooks? Any tips, hints or recipes? Thank you!

OOh I bought one while it was on clearance...best $1.99 I ever spent! (Reg $19.99) LOL

What I usually do, slice/dice veggies and just before cooking, I toss in a bowl with a tiny bit of olive oil and herbs then place on basket. Mine's not necessarily a basket but a tray with round holes punched into it with a lip all the way around, no handles.

My fave combo, olive oil, freshly cracked black pepper or olive oil, lemon & greek seasoning And lastly grill with oil, pepper and when done, place back in bowl, tiny drizzle of balsamic vinegar and toss YUM! (and b/c you're lightly coating veggies in oil, you won't need to spray the pan...if you want to omit oil, spray the basket/tray before you put it on grill then add veggies but I prefer the oil method)

Tip DF taught me: place a metal bowl on the top rack (bun rack/warmer) and put the grilled veggies in there until all have had a turn to be cooked - my trays not all that large - and when all are done they should soften all the way through vs soft on edges and semi hard in middle - we grill broc & carrots as well!

Ooh mine's more cookie-sheet'ish with a deep lip, not as deep as the wok thing but very similar

We used to have to slice veggies in huge chunks to grill then slice again when done grilling to serve. Now we can dice to serving size, grill & eat We also used to have to grill twice, once for the veggies then again for the meats.

Yum yum yum! BBQ season!! *does happy dance*

have the same one. LOVE IT!!! we love grld veggies in it

asparagus, red onion, green onions, shallots, red and orange peppers, zucchini, squash, whatever catches my fancy that day! i usually clean all veggies, throw in a sealable plastic bag, add a bit of walnut oil, black pepper and mrs dash garlic seasonings and put in frig till ready to grill. comes out yummy! the walnut oil adds something different than olive oil or canola oil.

I have a round one that's nonstick and I grill veggies and shrimp in it.

I have 2 different kinds of grill baskets. I love both of them. I use them for veggies, fish, and chicken. They are great for anything that is thin or small and might fall thru a regular grill.

I make sure I put olive oil on mine before I cook with it. Even the nonstick one.

With aspargus I just put a little bit of garlic powder on them and then grill them. I cut up potatoes and put parley, salt and pepper and grill them. You can do what ever you want for your taste.

We also have a grill basket. We grill a lot of veggies in it--asparagus, onions, potatoes, broccoli, peppers, squash, etc.

We have done all kinds of seasonings: melted butter, pepper, sea salt, marinades, etc. Whatever floats your boat really.
