ISO Ideas for Baby Shower Food
Good Day Ladies (and Gents)...
The ladies' group at church is holding a baby shower this Sunday for a couple who just had their first baby.
I'm kind of stumped at what to bring for food. We're ordering a cake so that's taken care of. It's a finger foods/snacks menu. Most bring veggies, nuts, chips/dip, cookies, candy/fudge, etc. I'm looking for something unique and/or different. It has to be something I can make the night before or in the morning before church and be able to keep well until the afternoon and be able to transport from home to the church. I will have about an hour prep time before the shower, but will need to be able to do that prep work in the church kitchen. Was thinking about a fruit pizza or veggie pizza.
Anyone have any ideas? Please include the recipe (or where I can find a recipe).
Thanks bunches !!Kim

deviled eggs?
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Deviled eggs are sure to be a hit. I also think fruit is a good idea, not in a "pizza" as those usually have added sugar and carbs/calories in the crust. Just a simple fruit salad or large chunks people can grab.

This is really easy and I'm sure it has a name I just don't know what it is.
Take a cherry tomato, a piece of basil and a piece of motzarella and put in on a frilled pick. Then take some kind of salad dressing, (italian, balsamic, some kind of viniagrette) and put on the plate before you add the tomato/basil/motzarella thing.
You can use nice motzarella balls from Costco, or you can just cut up some string cheese in sizes equal to the cherry tomato.
Easy! And you can do them the night before and just take along in a plastic container and plate them at the shower.

BLT on a stick:
similar to what saver said: take a grape tomato, wrap it a couple of times with a strip of lettuce and then with about 1/3 slice of bacon that hasn't been fried til crisp. Put it on a frilled toothpick and have a dish of ranch dressing close by. & as saver said, you can do these the night before & take in a plastic container & transfer to a tray at the shower.

Thank you so much for all your ideas. Still not sure what I'm gonna bring... the trip to the grocery store and what looks yummy will dictate !!
