    Default Pork roast question-food safety

    Hi

Is it safe to cook a partially defrosted pork roast in the crock pot on high if it reaches the correct temperature on a meat thermometer?

(It is already in the crockpot - has been for about 1/2 hour)

The bottom was frozen but the top partially thawed sort of-it is 3 lbs

    thanks!

I pop a pork roast in the crock pot frozen and cook on high but I do it for about 6 hours.

But I think if you can cook it and the safe internal temp is reached then it should be safe.

As long as the inside reaches 165F you're fine.

However, with part of it frozen it may cook unevenly, as the thawed parts will get cooked more than the frozen parts.
