What are you cooking for Easter dinner?
I'm thinking of putting in a small leg of lamb. Undecided on the side dishes.

My dad will be here for Easter dinner, so I am going to make him his mother's Beef Strogonaff with rice and a salad. I might make her apple dumplings as well, will have to see on that one.

We just had ham about three weeks ago, so dinner will be turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, yams, a green veggie and a cake. It sounds like lots of work, but the stuffing is instant as are the potatoes. The gravy is out of a can and the yams are out of a can too. Sister-in-law is bringing the cake. She provided the frozen turkey (which is thawing) too. Taking shortcuts because I am not up to all of the scratch cooking.

What? What? I'm supposed to come up with a meal?

Growing up my mom always just made a big special breakfast of German pancakes (like thick crepes), breads & spreads, and boiled eggs. So I like to do the same now.

We are having steaks. We bought a cow last year. Now, instead of spending money on ham or whatever, we just have steaks.

I'm going to cook a ham, not sure what else. Maybe cheesy potatoes, maybe mac and cheese. Who knows?McD

We're using the KISS approach this year. It's just the two of us and my mom and possibly a friend of hers, so no big family thing. Mom has a long list of chores she wants us to do while we're at her house, so we're skipping the cooking and cleaning up and having steaks on the Cobb, and I'm going to buy potato salad and coleslaw from the deli, plus maybe go all out and heat up a can of baked beans.
I love Anne Burrell. She's the female Guy Fieri.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
