Seasons change, does your grocery list too?
Mine sure does. This time of year is time for more chick peas, feta cheese, tomatoes in all their glorious colors, fresh veggies, herbs & fruits, ingredients on hand to make bbq sauces, salad dressings & marinades, olives & pickles, variety of pasta shapes for salads...
See ya in the fall oven roasts, casseroles, meatloaf, soups...
What does your list look like? Any foods you especialy enjoy making? I love making salads all kinds to go with various grilled meats. We still cook roasts in the summer but they are cooked on the rotisserie attached to our gas grill.Last edited by Darlene; 05-26-2011 at 10:41 AM.

Seasons change? Does that happen sometime soon? Because I'm getting tired of this one (I've dubbed it "Sprinter").
I bought stuff for salad last week but never ate it. At this point the oven roast sounds more appealing.

MR-definately stealing that term. We have snain here a lot too.
Yes. Tastes-salads,ice cream summer
winter /fall-soups/carbs
But also by grocery sales. We can't get fresh fuit year round. Winter tomato slices are like pink hockey pucks w/o flavor of any sort.
On a watermelon and green bean kick presently.

Yes! In the spring/summer, we eat more meat as a main dish, fresh veggies, cottage cheese, salads, etc. I love trying new marinades (in fact I just signed up for a Lawry's campaign on BZZagent) and salad dressing. We've started buying less lettuce and more spinach for our salads. We just call them tree stars like they did in The Land Before Time movie and Wesley will eat them.
Summer time is also the time for a tomato-mozzarella salad.
In the fall/winter, we cook more soups, stews, casseroles and more pasta dishes. I use my crockpot a lot more. My favorite fall meal: beer cheese soup cooked in the crockpot and beer bread for dipping.McD

The only thing that changes is that we eat more burgers from the grill and I buy melons and fruits ( until my orchard is bigger). Otherwise, it doesn't change much
Eat what you store, store what you eat kinda thing.
I make pasta salads all year round. Just change up what I put in it. ( but I dehydrate alot so I can have things year round too)

My list changes weekly with what is on sale and what is in season, and what the weather is like. I thought we were moving into salads and sandwiches this week, but it has been below 50 the past two days
I grill on the covered deck most of the year, but especially in the nicer weather, and I'll be firing up the smoker this weekend for real slow cooked bbq.Use it up, Wear it out,

More tomatoes, more melon, more squash! More salads, more pasta salads. Probably more chicken and less beef unless there's a good sale.

Not really. Whatever is in the stockpile and whatever is coming on sale. Course what's coming on sale is seasonal, ketchup etc.
Maybe what we buy in fruit and vegetables somewhat. Still depending on price. Biggest would be strawberries, cantaloupe and grapes...but then I can get just as good price on those sometimes in the winter as I can the summer.
I fix soup all year long as a pot will do for a couple days without cooking or to put in freezer for another night if it lasts that long.
So would have to say very little.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Definitely more green salads, pasta salads, and fresh fruit for side dishes. Hamburgers and chicken on the grill for dh and grilled veggie burgers on the other side for me.
Lots of hummus. I'm so hoping my garden produces this year so less on my list to buy!

I don't change it myself, but I do change it due to whatever is on sale.
