    Default 100 year old german slaw dressing

    Ooooo I've just got to try this!

    1 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    Cook until it spins a thread. Remove from heat and add:
    1 tsp. onion juice or grated onion
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. celery seed
    This dressing will keep a month or more. Toss with shredded cabbage or add other vegetables.

    My grandmother made that and thickened it with bacon fat and flour. She called it " wilt".
