Question Can I usew this recipie for other veggies besides carrots?

We have made these firecracker carrots for years and love them.

While making them today, I wondered if we could use other veggies in the recipe instead of carrots. If so then what veggies would be good in it?

I think any root vegetable except potatoes would be good: turnip, rutabaga, maybe cauliflower?

Any other firm vegetable should work. Cucumber slices, pearl onions, cauliflower, artichoke wedges, green beans, beets, brussels sprouts, asparagus, whole garlic cloves....
