Does anyone have a recipe for or know of where I could find a recipe for homemade butter?

Shake or beat heavy cream for quite a while

till it gets solid. Add salt or whatever you like or not.

    Kate117,

    What did your DH think?

Mine thinks everything is harder than it is.

That's my dh too. He makes everything out to be harder then it should be. He thought the butter was really good. I think we will be making it more often since prices of store bought butter around here is absolutley outrageous, and we certainly use enough of it.

can get super fancy and pour it into candy molds. This is fun for the kids to make in baby jars.

This is when an electric mixer comes in handy. Just pour in your heavy cream turn it on and wala in a couple of minutes you've got homemade butter. The only thing I would add is some salt. Unless you plan to use it for baking. I'm glad your hubby liked your HM butter. I don't think my hubby would notice or care either way if it was HM or store bought.

My bread machine also has a butter option, I use heavy cream and it whips it up nicely.
