    Default ISO Marinade

What are the basic ingredients of a marinade? I got some Chuck Eye Steaks at WM for $1.31/lb. They are very tender, but not so flavorful. I'd like to try a marinade with say garlic and onion, but don't want to pay $2 or more for a bottle at the store since I probably already have everything in the cupboard.

    MARINADE FOR LONDON BROIL

    1/2 c. salad oil
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 c. Heinz 57 Sauce
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. onion powder
    1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
    1 tsp. parsley
    1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
Sprinkle of basil, thyme, oregano & chives
Pound garlic powder, onion powder and seasoned salt lightly into London broil or flank steak on both sides. Mix other ingredients and cover meat with marinade. Allow to marinade overnight or all day before grilling.

NOTE: Saute sliced fresh mushrooms in remainder of marinade (boil before adding mushrooms) and serve over steak, if desired.
