    Default My Marinade Recipe

This recipe for marinade is better than any that I've ever bought in a bottle!  I use it on steaks, but I've been meaning to try it on pork chops as well:

    Marinated Flank Steak

    Make marinade of:

    2/3 cup catsup
    1/2 cup water
    1/3 cup lemon juice
    1 teaspoon celery seed
    2 teaspoons Worcestershire
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
    1/4 teaspoon crushed basil
Dash of Tabasco or hot sauce.

Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Cook to room temperature (sometimes I don't have time for this, so I just pour it on)

Pour over 1 1/2 lb. scored flank steak. Let stand in refrigerator several hours or overnight; spoon marinade over occasionally. Place on grill. Cook for 5 mins; turn & cook 5 more or until desired doneness.

Slice very thin diagonally across grain. Serve alone or on crusty, buttered grilled rolls. Heat marinade and pass.

    Makes 6 servings.

Thanks Susie, I'm gonna have to give this a try.

For those of you who don't know, gotta make sure you really get a good boil out of the marinade if your going to use it after it's had the raw meat in it.
