iso lemonade recipes
My kids actually like lemonade. I'm shocked. I'd like to gather some lemonade recipes (ie. strawberry-lemonade) that aren't just straight lemon.
Anyone mix up and lemonade concoctions? If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. Gripey drinks it like water. His recipe is as follows:
Go to the store
Buy a can of Minute Maid frozen lemonaid concentrate
Come home
Get pitcher out of cabinet
Mix concentrate with a pitcher full of water
Add a bit of sugar for added calories...
Drink up!
It's not frugal or exactly homemade. But it IS good!

I have a lemon tree and make this lemonade every year.
1 cup sugar
3 cups water
3 large lemons
Bring the sugar and water to the boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the juice of two lemons and three lengths of zest, stir and bring to the boil again.
Turn off the heat, allow to cool, then chill.
Just before serving, squeeze in the juice of the third lemon and stir well. Serve with plenty of ice, mint and a slice of lemon. Add water to taste.
Makes 1 jug.
Depending on what else I have in the house, I add passionfruit or squashed up berries.
When my kids were little I also used to make this into icy pops for them. Just make up the lemonade as you would like to drink it and pour that into icy pop tray and freeze. I also added fresh fruit to these too. The kids loved them.
