Fun food or freaky?
Do you like these different looking heads of cauliflower? I think the purple looks very pretty, lol.

Well, I think they all look lovely. I wouldn't eat a single one of them, though.

How pretty! I really like the purple. If these colored ones were the same price as the white, I'd try it for sure!

The purple one is like red cabbage, Kathy, it loses some colour but also retains a lot. I'd eat all three, I love cauliflower.
Kimber, why wouldn't you eat them?

I'd eat them as long as they tasted pretty much the same as regular cauliflower. The pigments are generally the antioxidants, so they probably pack a much better nutritional punch.

When I lived in South Bend, I'd find purple broccoli at the Farmer's Market. A touch more expensive than other produce there, but still cheaper than the supermarkets!
I'd love to try all the different colors of cauliflower. Can you imagine how nice they'd look in a raw cauliflower salad!2012 Knitting in progress

Rhonda, I just don't like cauliflower. I can tolerate it raw, but generally only if it has some sort of vegetable dip on it, and that sort of negates the whole good-for-me part, KWIM?
I would take cauliflower over broccoli any day, though.
I have seen seeds for the varieties above and have almost been tempted to grow them, but I would never get DH to eat them, so I think to myself, why bother?

I tried the purple but didn't like it cooked. The flavor was slightly stronger.

We had the orange at Thanksgiving, raw. Couldn't tell any difference myself.

While shopping today, I had my choice of all the colors and the colored ones were much smaller. I went for the bigger plain one since I was paying per head. The others did look pretty though.
