Guest Chef--Lori's DSs fave!
This is a recipe the I modified from one DH found in Sunset. It is to die for! Trust me on this. It sounds weird, but my DSs will fight over it to the last noodle.
Ramen Stir Fry
1- 16 oz bag frozen stir fry veggies
4 packs oriental flavor ramen
1/8 teaspoon ginger
3 cups HOT water
1 lb hamburger
Brown hamburger in large skillet with one pack of ramen seasoning and ginger. Drain if needed. Add entire pack of veggies with heat on high. Stir fry for a few mintues until veggies are nearly done. Break ramen into quarters and add to skillet. Add rest of seasoning packets and water. Continue to cook on high for three minutes or until water is absorbed. Makes four generous servings.
Keep an extra fork handy to stab wondering fingers that might try to steal this off of your plate!
I have used other flavors of ramen and other kinds of meat. It is great for leftover pork (use pork ramen), chicken (chicken ramen), ground turkey...well, you get the idea. I have also added a few odds and ends I might have on hand. For example, I had three leftover mushrooms from another recipe, so I sliced them up and added them to it.

Great recipe, Lori. Thank you. It looks tasty and frugal, which is what we're all looking for.

Sounds good and easy and the extra excitment of fighting over noodles is fun too. Thanks Lori.

but now I've thought about it I don't need to use it & cook the noodles, w/veggies, etc. my own seasonings!
Rite Aid just had Nissin Top Ramen Noodles on sale 10 for $1.00 but I didn't get to buy them since cleaning all day long!
A very frugal, healthy meal which is easy to cook up in a hurry, stir fry
Tonight for dinner I made one of the frozen Lean Cusine Terriyaki chicken w/rice & vegetables skillet dinners. I added in a can of Geisha Mushroom Pieces (bought this @ one of the drug stores onsale like .20 a can & figured it'll make the meal a bit bigger since usally DH eats alot & 1 have to cook 2 bags of the LC & I only had one in the freezer
I told DH I could make this meal, it's not that hard & his comment to me was I don't have time to clean the house & I'm going to cook!
I figured it's pretty easy to mix in a few veggies to the rice, etc. some kind of sauce & cook it all in the rice cooker
I gotta start cooking the 20 lb bag of rice I bought, thinking of some meals to make w/it since DH is a bit picky eating rice & pasta dishes
