aubecq cookware?
Is anyone familiar with this line of stainless cookware? I saw a couple of pieces in a local store, but have never heard of it. I'm not having any luck finding any info online either. Any feedback would be appreciated.

was there any information on teh packaging about it's construction?
it should be made of a snadwich of stainless steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. it could have something other than aluminium as the middle layer but i haven't seen copper as a middle layer. the middle layer conducts teh heat evenly while teh outer layers of stainless steel provide durablity. and the whole pan being made of the 3 layers is better than just a copper or aluminium bottom. it provides even heat distrobution through the pan and not just the bottom. they also tend to be lighter than the ones with the cap on teh bottom.
i have never heard of this brand before, but if it is comfortable in your hand and has teh 3 layer construction, it should work fine.
just remember to cook on low to medium heat and allow whatever you are cooking to cook through on one side before flipping or it will stick. the natural sugars in whatever you are cooking will carmelize and loosen and then you can flip and you'll get nice browning.
make sure it is comfortable in your hand at the height of your stove since that is teh height you will be holding it as most of the time.
also how is teh handle attached?is it a solid peice where it attaches to the side of teh pan, or is there and open notch in the middle? if it is solid, it will conduct the heat up the handle and you will have to use a potholder while cooking. if it has an open notch (called a cool v by calphalon) it will only be hot right where it connects to the pan, but not on the part of the handle you hold.
is it screwed or riveted, or welded?
screws can come loose. rivets and welds usually hold up well.
not having seen Aubecq, i can't really give an opnion, but hopefully the info i gave you helps. if you have any questions about the info, please ask. i work at a housewares store so if i can't answer it, i can try asking at work.wife to carl

I do have packaging info about its construction, but was wondering if anyone had personal experience with this brand specifically. I always like to ask before I take a chance on a brand I've not heard of.

I bought expensive pots and pans before I got married. FIL made fun of how much I paid for them. I don't even know the name of them. Not any name thats in stores. They are made with 3 layers on the bottom. I do remember that. They are 34-1/2 years old and I'm still using every one of them. There is nothing wrong with any of them. I am sooooooo glad I spent the money.

I bought two frying pans
I found two Aubecg frying pans at TJMaxx and love them. I was looking to see if I could find other pieces and came across your post. I've been back to TJ and couldn't find any more from this company. It is non stick but seems to be different from other non stick pans. It cleans very easy. I'd love to know where TJ got them.

Hard to find but high quality and very long lasting. I have had a set of 2 saute pans for several years and loved them. They cook evenly, clean easily and the non-stick coating lasted well since I took relatively good care of it. It is now time to replace my large (read I use it every day) pan. I have been looking for a while and would love to find a new one but have not run across one. I say grab them when you can. If you get at Marshalls or TJ you are getting a high quality pan at a bargain price! Hope that helps.

Aubecq cookware half price sale
Hi all,
I just received a shopping alert from Ozsale.com.au where the Aubecq cookware is on sale at around half-price for another day or so (get in quick!!). I'm not sure if they ship internationally (outside Australia) but I'm keen to buy the sautee pan, the 24cm casserole pot and maybe a saucepan. Has anyone ever tried Aubecq's crepepan? Also are the handles heat resistant? I probably wouldn't pay for them (even at half price) if they're not heat resistent.
Greatly appreciate your comments!!
Many thanks
