Need simple and yummy recipe for turnips, and one for parsnips too.

They were cheap at the store today, so I got a package of parsnips and about 4 turnips and now I need to know what to do with them (separately). Can I boil them and mash with butter? Are they better sliced and fried up?

I boil them with potatoes and mash with milk and butter yummmmm

I slice 'em up and put them in the bottom of my crock pot, top with either a whole chicken or chicken pieces, a dash water and some spices, and 8 hours later voila! Very yummy.
