    Can you use a meat thermometer for candy? The candy only has to get a soft ball stage, so not too hot. I broke my candy one over Christmas and forgot to buy a new one!

    Geeze Stella, I honestly don't know. Soft ball stage is about 235ºF on my candy thermometer. Does that help you at all?
