    Default Ice For The Cooler

On another site I read this tip that I thought was worth repeating. Freeze water in 2 liter bottles and place in your cooler instead of ice to keep your foods cool. Then you can drink the water.

We do this alot. For our smaller cooler we use the 20 oz bottles. It's nice to have that cold water to drink of a hot day.

I do this with my lunches at work. Except I need about 500 ml bottles to keep my lunch cold enough if its something perishable. Mostly 1-2 will do. Plus I just keep refilling my water bottle at work and keep drinking at my desk. Icy cold water is great with a tiny chunk of lemon in it - very refreshing in the afternoon!

But then again my lunch bag is the big soft kind b/c I use plastic containers to hold everything in there - even the snacks!

    Great tip!

I going to try this the next time we go camping. I hate it when our food is all wet the second day when the ice starts to melt.
