Kitchen inventory.....
I have not cleaned out or organized my kitchen ,food,staples,spices
I know I have read a thread about this but if I'm going to start stockpileing well you know...I have so many spices and herbs I don't really know how old some of it is..I have bulk spices I had gotton from a Indian store I don't use them up fast enough,Like ginger,fenuugk,cumin,musturd seeds,paprika,masala..I still have apple cider packets from fall and winter so I put them out with the tea so maybe my kids well use them up..alot of the canned goods I put out for the food drive,Like marie callenders soup there wa s a big sell and at one point, but no one really cares for them ..I had corn,peas which we really don't use..a neighbor of mine gave us all her food when she moved but it is just not what we eat..So that went anyways I have enough I think I won't have to shop for maybe a week..It just may be funky meals.but that is okay..My kids may fuss about it ,but if they are hungry!!! so of course I need to get creative.
Red beans and rice
homemade bread
broccoli
Vegitarian goulash
garlic bread{homemade bread}
ruebens sandwich{homemade rye bread}
Pita chips{homemade}
chicken alfredo
green beans
rasberry muffins
French toast
sausage
berries
I have this cheese sauce powder that actully makes really good Mac and cheese so I could maybe make a cassarole with this ..Any ways thank you for letting me talk about this..I have more stuff to work with but I get overload on ideas,But of course when you have to use what you have you always want something else...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Ladymiser

I take an inventory every few weeks to see what kinds of dinners I can make with what is on hand in my cupboards. It's amazing how far you can make your food supply stretch, just by knowing what you have!

I hate kitchen inventory lol! I always start off well--making a list and keeping it taped inside the cupboard so as I use things I can just check them off and keep a tally of what I have. I organize everything and make a little "map" so I know where things are. I make a menu, making a point of using the spices in the cupboard, the extra canned goods, etc. Then, it happens. Dh gets in there and just runs amok. He grabs things and puts them back in a different spot. He'll see something he wants for lunch and there goes the menu plan because now I'm missing ingredients! Aack! But I keep trying--I'm hoping at some point it will sink in to everyone else that an organized pantry is a good thing lol!

I have one of those boards you can write on then erase it on my freezer door & everytime we use the last of something or think of something it gets written on the board, much easier for me to keep track of what we have/need.

Not even gonna attempt this. The only way I could get it inventoried is for ya'll to fly in and help. No way....

I have a small chalk board that I call the "lunch board". I put things on it that the kids/hubby can have for lunch (or snacks).

You know you mentioned cans of soup, I saw on a show where they took the can of soup and added stuffing mixes to it and used it that way. Also you can use them to remake another kind of soup. Just an idea.

I desperately need to do an inventory of what is in my kitchen cupboards. I am sure if I would just figure out what all I have, I won't need to go to the grocery store atleast till after the 1st.
