I also made Homemade French Bread...Baked my freezer meal of stuffed peppers for tomorrows night supper( have to work this weekend) to go along with the bread..Now I'm gonna make egg salad so my family can have that for lunch tomorrow while I'm at work...

As much as I would love to be baking some bread and muffins today, it is 105* with a heat index of 115* and only getting hotter.

OMG.....AnnK & Neeley in the 100's....I wouldn't be baking or cooking either thats for sure..It's even to hot to cookout on the grill..What do you usually eat when it's that hot? If it were me I know I wouldn't be frugal at all I would be ordering out!

We do order take out some, plus I have some meals in the freezer that I have pre-made. I can just pop them in the microwave. We also make tuna sandwiches, salads - like potato salads or tuna salads, lots of fresh fruit etc... We get creative. Last night I was not wanting to cook at all so we had Chinese take-out.
This week has been the worst for us - our city has set a record for high temps every day this week. Today we broke the record before noon.DD (19)

The heat is insufferable in northern Lousiana. Heat index over 100 yesterday. My poor plants are stressed. I water them every other day. We got way too much rain in July but in August not a drop and we need it.

It's 100 here, I'll take some of your cooler weather to take it down to 80 or so.....I made brownies the other night. I might make cookies tonight when it cools off. Maybe.

It's 98 with a heat index of 105 and I made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies. I must be crazy, but I was craving them.
I think I get to go out to eat, so I won't have to heat up the house anymore.

It's 103 here, heat index 112! I made some homemade chicken soup with a rotissiere chicken today. I hate to bake, so I rarely do that even if it is cold out.

It's in the 90's here -- heat index over 100. That's why we're having salads. I do have to mix up some new dressing but thank goodness it doesn't involve heat.

It is 100 here today, but I do have a meatloaf in the oven. We don't own a grill, and eating out or getting take-out are never an option.
