Butter....I think even the health nuts are figuring out that natural products are better than the so called man made healthy ones

Neither. We use a spread made of canola, soy and olive oil. {ds's dairy allergy} Our entire family hasn't noticed the difference in taste. I was buying both the spread and butter, until my ds almost used the butter. Now we all use the same spread. It even bakes well!

I use both. I prefer butter by a long shot, but I can't afford to use it for everything. I'll use butter when making decadent baked goods. I'll use margarine whenever I think it won't affect the taste much.

We use butter. We are on a no-artificial colors and preservatives diet and there is a lot of un-natural artificial junk in margarine.

    I would say butter also.

butter because it seems more natural than the spreadable stuff in the tubs.

High cholesterol here so Smartbalance, olive oil, and canola oil mostly used here. Do have butter though. Can't beat the taste. Just a little bit once in a while I don't think is bad for you. Also, shortbread really needs butter!

If I had the buget and better health it would be butter all the way!!

Butter for most everything. Can't beat butter for baking. Once in awhile I will get a tub of margarine, but after reading how it is made I don't think I will buy it anymore.

I buy Smart Balance. I have even baked with it, with very good results. Just turn the contents of the 1 lb. tub out onto a plate or cutting board, and using a Chef's knife divide the whole thing into fourths. Each fourth is equal to one stick of butter. I don't really do much baking, though. We use olive oil for many things, too.
