Talking Drying my clothes on a drying rack!!!

I am so, so, so excited I haven't used my dryer in 3 days!! I am hanging my clothes and towels up on hangers and a drying rack in the basement. We don't have a clothes line so I have to hang them all over the basement, on some wires and cables too!!! LOL!! Anyway, I haven't used the dryer and I really do feel good about the money that I know that we are saving. I know that 3 days of not using the dryer isn't much, but every little bit helps!! I am hoping to continue doing this!! SO hopefully it will continue to stay nice and I can still use the deck for some stuff!! Just wanted to share with everyone my continued efforts on becoming more frugal!!

Yay! Every load helps! It feels so good to keep a little more of your money in YOUR bank account, not the power company's!

That's great. We don't own a dryer and use our clothes line all the time. Sometimes I have to go to the laundromat to dry clothes but not very often.

Ditto for us too! Except I have not been to the laundromat since we moved here to dry things. When we bought our house we need a washer - so I got the expensive front loader - as it was what I had in Europe and we skipped the dryer - I haven't really used one in 5 years anyway.

Good job! I've never owned a dryer, so outside hanging of clothes is all I do, even in the winter, if the sun is out and its 35 or over, most things dry. I do have a rack on our screen porch, just in case its too snowy. I do take my large quilts and blankets to the laundry, but thats because their so big. Nothing like the smell of line dried laundry.

It was so hot out yesterday afternoon, and the sun was shining directly on my stuff!! I had a huge, heavy quilt hanging outside and it dried in less than 45 minutes!!! That is like a 1/4 of the time in a dryer, I am really trying hard to make this work, so thanks to everyone for the extra support!!

We don't have a dryer right now. So I hang all my clothes. I have these great racks I got 2 years ago and put them in the back yard.

I've been using a drying rack for my unmentionables mostly, and occasionally some of the kids clothes. Our basement is housing most of Brian's excess electrical supplies, so it's not very condusive to line drying. I do have outside lines, but the actual lines need to be replaced, and one of the poles needs to be re-set as well. I'm still waiting on Brian to do that for me!! *sigh*

I can't wait to hear how much your power bill comes down! I do have to ask though... does it take longer for your clothes to dry inside? I guess I am talking about thicker items, such as towels and such.
