Default Wax dripped on fleece coat

I have a polartec fleece coat that got some candle wax dripped on it, which has hardened now. Is there a way to remove the wax from the fleece? Thx

I've seen wax removed from bedspreads by covering the wax with absorbent paper, then using a blow dryer to melt it again. The paper sucks up the liquid wax. Not sure if it would work on fleece, though.

    Here's a tip from on-line:

I used this trick (iron and a regular paper towel) to get a bunch of candle wax out of a fleece jacket! I never thought it would work on fleece but every last drop of wax came out. As you iron you can see what looks like a wet spot forming on the paper towel. Keep going over and over the same spot using a "dry" spot until it doesn't create a "wet" spot. That's when all the wax is out. (It doesn't take long at all.)

I had something similar happen. I used a hair dryer to melt the wax and wipe off. I have also used a iron ( put a thin cloth over the spot) iron til it melts onto cloth. hope that helps.

Polar fleece will melt, so be careful. You will definitely be able to get the wax out and unless there is a lot of coloring in the wax, you probably won't even be able to tell it was there.

    Thanks for all the replies!

My DH was upset because he thought his nice fleece coat was ruined!

I took an iron and some paper napkins and carefully heated the wax and absorbed it with the napkins and in a few minutes it all came out. DH was astounded! And happy that his coat is recovered (as it were).
