Smiling about laundry
It's a red letter day for a few reasons:
1.Our washing machine was finally delivered today after being without one for over a month.
2. It's the first day of the year for us drying on the clothesline.
3. Hubby is out at the line hanging clothes without me asking. He never ever hangs laundry. He's not hanging it the "proper" way but I'm not going to tell him.
I like to hang them so nothing gets the pointy clothespin look and one garment hooks to the next with the same clothes pin. WTG Hubby!
How many of you are or have been hanging your laundry out? And does your sweetie ever hang it out?~*Darlene*~

Hubby washes his own greasy work clothes with a wringer in his shop. Our clothes-never. Probably would have a heart attack if he did. Yep, I've been hanging up clothes. I find it relaxing...

In our HOA we are not allowed to have a clothesline. So, I have to get hubby to string me up one in the lanai, lol. As soon as I can get him to do that, I'll be hanging clothes.

Great news indeed!!! I don't know how you did it....
Hubby and I do the laundry together while watching TV in the evenings (Tuesday and Saturday night). We run it down to the basement and hang it on the lines in the drying room - one of the best uses of space in our home. No sun bleaching clothes, no bird do-do or bugs/wasps hidden in a sleeve, no sudden rain shower to contend with, no wind beating your clothes to death....
Hubby can do laundry as well as I can. We always said it's work if you have to do it by yourself, but it's "love" when you can share tasks with each other.

Not sure how to answer this one but DF pokes fun at me b/c I hang my clothes to dry on a rack, in the windowless hallway of the basement. Its frugal and its a built in humidifier all year long

I can't hang anything outside b/c due to dust/pollen that lands on them and then when I go to wear the clothes I sneeze non stop PLUS all the negatives Grainlady listed
So no...he doesn't hang clothes for me
but he loves using his new HE washer & dryer
Boys & their toys...as long as the laundry gets done!

WTG Darlene's hubby! As least he tried. My DH doesn't hang out laundry, but he cooks more than I do so I don't complain.
I had a reason to smile about the laundry today too. I came home and DS#2 had already done all our laundry that was in the hamper. Gotta love that boy!!~*Michelle*~

My hubby will do laundry but I have to fold it. He hates to fold it. I wish we had a spot in our townhome to hang clothes. Sometimes I will hang them up from the shower rod after drying them in the dryer for a few minutes.

I started hanging laundry a few weeks ago. Hubby won't hang them up bit he will take the down if I ask him. Sometimes he will throw a wash in for me without asking and even fold them and put them away.
. I like doing laundry though once I can hang them outside.

We don't hang our laundry, and we do our own separate laundry. My fiancee would do mine, but she takes too long, leaving things to get wrinkled too often. I do my own laundry about once every 5 weeks, knocking it out in one day. She has free reign to take her own sweet time the other 4 weeks.

This reminded me of something that happened after Katrina hit.
We were without power for 8 days. My parents lived just down the street.
One day, my father mentioned that he had hooked his generator to the washing machine and washed a load of clothes. He said, "I guess I can hang them over the deck rail to dry."
I reminded him that I have a clothesline.
He came over and hung his clothes out on my line.
I'm pretty certain that's the only time in his 73 years he had ever hung clothes on a clothesline.
I SO wish I had taken a picture while he was hanging those clothes!!Jean
