Default Beach towels vs Bath towels

I've been hanging my clothes outside on the clothes line to dry and yesterday hung out my bath towels and a couple of beach towels.

So I'm just wondering, why do my beach towels dry soft and my bath towels are so stiff they could probably stand straight up on their own?

i think beach towels have more polyester in them rather then be 100% cotton like most bath towels- probably so they dry faster on their own and stay soft when they are used -allowed to dry at pool side -and then picked up again

I don't know however we have alot of beach towels from when we had the pool before the house insurance made us take the pool out. We use those alot of times instead of towel towels. They're softer and fluffier.
Could be because they didn't have leftover soap residue in them.

I agree with momto5. I think it's definetely the denseness in the fibers. It makes sense about the beach towels drying faster too.

Yep...I would guess that too. Poly. will make them much softer than cotton.

check the tags on them and compare the fiber content.
