Does anyone know how to clean them?

My father gave me a box of linens he'd been saving for one of us girls. They were in plastic grocery bags and just jammed in...some folded. Some are well over 100 years old.

That's the good part. The bad part is that there are a lot of dark brown spots on these. And some are sporting holes. I don't think I want to save those. Though I'm trying to figure out how to save the stitchwork/tatting to use someplace else.

Any ideas how to remove the dark brown spots?

Also in the box was the baby quilt used for Dad's crib and all six of us kids. I am soaking it in hot water and Dawn dish detergent right now. There are a few brown spots on it and a couple pen marks. I've tried rubbing alcohol on the pen, but it's not got it all out. Is it a hopeless cause? Or is there something else I can try?
