Trying to find washing soda

I wanted to give HM laundry detergent a try, so today I went out and bought Zote and Borax, but could not find the washing soda (Walmart). They did have large boxes of Arm & Hammer baking soda, but I'm guessing that won't work as a substitute, correct? Anyone know where to find this stuff?

Around here the larger stores like Walmart don't carry it, but the smaller grocery stores who have a higher percentage of senior citizen shoppers do. I'm guessing it is because it's an "old fashioned" product?

Walmart doesn't carry it here either and I found mine at our local grocery store. I think it was Price Chopper.

No...from what I recall, washing soda is different. I tend to see it more often in grocery stores vs Walmart but I am in Canada.

Walmart does not have it here either. I got mine at County Market a local small town grocery store.

Ask the manager of your local grocery store if they can get it for you.

I found some last year at our local Price Chopper grocery store.

You probably would get some good results by calling around and finding out if anyone locally stocks it. If not, ask if they might stock some in the future.

If you have an Ace Hardware store try there. That's where I finally found mine. Or look on Alice.com, she had it also.

I have read that if you can't find washing soda that you can buy pH plus or soda ash in the pool chemicals and that it is the same thing. Hope this is helpful!

Walmart doesn't carry it in Baltimore either but the local Giant Foods does carry it.

I ordered mine online from the Arm and Hammer web site. Also if you have an Ace store nearby you can have them order it for you. If its shipped to the store shipping is free.
