easy way to remove adhesives from shirts??
Hoping someone can help me out. Dubya had two shirts go through the laundry with name tag or sticker on it. Now it has that gummy adhesive type junk stuck to his shirt. One is a thermal type material, the other is a regular t-shirt.
Any thoughts or suggestions? I have sprayed with stain remover and rewashed....it's coming out bit by bit, but I want it done now!

I'd try Goof Off first.

Hairspray might work.
Goo Gone might work too, but that might be hard to remove itself. Read the label and see if it's made to be used on fabrics.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You can also try Murphy's oil soap. Apply the soap directly on the stain and rub in. Then launder.

~I use rubbing alcohol wipes on stuff like that. I think so long as you don't soak the fibers in alcohol, it won't damage the items. I've removed residue from t-shirts with no problems.~

Test a small spot first but I have used a ironing cloth and iron...gently iron over no lint cloth sometimes lifts off adhesive.

You can heat vinegar in the microwave (hot like nuke it for about 1 minute 20 seconds). Then place the shirt in your kitchen sink. Pour the hot vinegar over the area with adhesive on it. Brush the adhesive off with an old toothbrush. It might take up to a mug of hot vinegar (couple of attempts) to remove it, but it comes off fairly easily. I just did this last week. This works on gum stuck on clothing, too.
Wd40 works well, but I use it as a last resort because it can stain sometimes. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online.
